Innovate-Journal of Online Education (Free)

Innovate is an open access, bimonthly, peer-reviewed online periodical (ISSN 1552-3233) published by the Fischler School of Education and Human Services at Nova Southeastern University. The journal focuses on the creative use of information technology (IT) to enhance educational processes in academic, commercial, and governmental settings. Our basic assumption is that innovative uses of technology in one sector can inform innovative uses of technology in each of the other sectors. 


Contemporary Issues in Technology and Teacher Education (CITE)

CITE an electronic publication of the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education (SITE), established as a multimedia, interactive counterpart of the Journal of Technology and Teacher Education. CITE includes three major categories of articles:

  1. Current Issues will include more theoretical discussions of technology and teacher preparation.
  2. Current Practices will provide shorter, up-to-the-minute snapshots of technology in practice.
  3. Seminal Articles will include previously published “classic” articles that have advanced the discussion of technology and teacher education.

Journal of Technology and Teacher education(JTATE)

JTATE serves as a forum for the exchange of knowledge about the use of information technology in teacher education. Journal content covers preservice and inservice teacher education, graduate programs in areas such as curriculum and instruction, educational administration, staff development instructional technology, and educational computing.JTATE is the official journal of the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education (SITE).


International Journal on E-Learning(IJEL) 

Advances in technology and the growth of e-learning to provide educators and trainers with unique opportunities to enhance learning and teaching in corporate, government, healthcare, and higher education.  IJEL serves as a forum to facilitate the international exchange of information on the current research, development, and practice of e-learning in these sectors.


Technology, Pedagogy and Education(TPE)

TPE is the official journal for the Association for IT in Teacher education(ITTE). A fully-refereed international journal concerned with supporting educators in the integration of information technology in the teaching and learning process. Contributions are published in the form of original theoretical works, research reports, literature reviews, software and book reviews, conference reports, and announcements about the development of information technology theory and practice in teacher education. The journal especially seeks to publish articles concerned with

  • practice and innovation in school and teacher education;
  • the theory and practice of information technology in education;
  • evaluation of the impact of information technology on teaching and learning;
  • information technology in teacher education curricula;
  • cultural aspects of information technology in education;
  • student teachers working with information technology in classrooms;
  • studies of pupils working with information technology;
  • and links between schools, training institutions and the wider community.

A subscription to TPE is included as part of the association's annual membership fee.

Journal of Research on Technology in eduaction(JRTE)  

Produced quarterly ISTE, JRTE publishes original, peer-reviewed research on educational computing.


Journal of Computing in teacher Education(JCTE)  

Each quarterly issue of the JCTE contains refereed articles on preservice and inservice training, research in computer education and certification issues, and reviews of training materials and texts. JCTE provides a forum for sharing information among departments, schools, and colleges of education who are confronting the issues of providing computer and technology education for preservice and inservice teachers.


Journal of Interactive Media in Education(JIME)  

JIME was launched in September, 1996. It's aims are: 

  1. To foster a multidisciplinary and intellectually rigorous debate on the theoretical and practical aspects of interactive media in education. 
  2. To clarify the cognitive, social and cultural issues raised by the use of interactive media in education.  
  3. To radically improve teaching and learning through better interactive media. 
  4. To publish leading international research on the theories, practices and experiences in the field.  
  5. To link scholars and commercial practitioners  
  6. Through its innovative use of interactive Net-based media, to be an action research project which explores the changing face of journals, and more broadly, scholarly practice in the age of digital publishing and communication.

The International Journal of Education and Development using Information and Communication Technology (IJEDICT) 

The International Journal of Education and Development using Information and Communication Technology (IJEDICT) is an e-journal that provides free and open access to all of its content.
IJEDICT aims to strengthen links between research and practice in ICT in education and development in hitherto less developed parts of the world, e.g., developing countries (especially small states), and rural and remote regions of developed countries. The emphasis is on providing a space for researchers, practitioners and theoreticians to jointly explore ideas using an eclectic mix of research methods and disciplines. It brings together research, action research and case studies in order to assist in the transfer of best practice, the development of policy and the creation of theory. Thus, IJEDICT is of interest to a wide-ranging audience of researchers, policy-makers, practitioners, government officers and other professionals involved in education or development in communities throughout the world.

Australasian Journal of Educational Technology 

The Australasian Journal of Educational Technology is a refereed journal publishing research and review articles in educational technology, instructional design, educational applications of computer technologies, educational telecommunications and related areas.

Interactive Multimedia Electronic Journal of Computer-Enhanced Learning

IMEJ is a prototype for an interactive multimedia electronic journal edited and produced at Wake Forest University. The goals of IMEJ are

  • to provide a peer-reviewed forum for innovations in computer-enhanced learning, 
  • to serve as a model and testbed for an electronic journal with a high level of multimedia and interactivity, and

E-Learning  

E-Learning is a peer-refereed international online-only journal directed towards the study and research of e-learning in its diverse aspects: pedagogical, curricular, sociological, economic, philosophical and political.

The journal aims to serve as an international forum to facilitate current research, practice and development of e-learning in education. Oriented toward practitioners in the field who are engaged in both the practice and theory of e-learning, it is a broadly conceived journal with a focus on research, evaluation of current practice, and the underlying theories of e-learning in its diverse forms. E-Learning is particularly interested in articles that address theory and practice, although work that is predominantly conceptual, theoretical and 'critical' is welcomed. It also encourages articles with an experimental outlook.

The Journal of Special Education Technology (JSET) is a traditional print-on-paper publication (4 issues per year) that is sent to subscribers and members of the Technology and Media Division of the Council for Exceptional Children (TAM). Access to this online edition is provided free of charge.


Australian Educational computing 

Australian Educational Computing is the journal of the Australian Council for Computers in Education (ACCE). Subscription is complimentary to members of affiliated computer education groups. The back volumes  could be downloaded free.
